      In the ted talk I watched given by Clay Shirky, he discussed technology and how it is making history. Daily changes take place like new phones and features to big advancement like robots or cars/self driving. 
      The benefits of Social Media is to communicate fast and and make the public aware of all the advancement. Not only can you read about the technology but you can see it in action. Social media also allows for  popular artist and music from all over the world to be seen immediately.
      Advancements in technology allows for cell phones to have a GPS which not only helps for guidances and maps. It can also provide your location to emergency services during an emergency. During an emergency some people can not handle to. pressure or being frantic so they might not know where they are or it is too tough to say where they might be. In these case technology can do it for us.
      Some challenges with social media include limitless access. people can get addicted to social media. this can result in distractibility and isolation. distractibility is bad because it can interrupt learning, working and worse, driving. distracted driving has led people to getting hurt and fatalities. 
Nearly 4,000 people were killed in crashes involving distracted drivers in 2015. Distracted driving was the reported cause of death of 3,450 people in 2016. An estimated 391,000 drivers were injured in distracted driving crashes in 2017. https://www.thezebra.com/distracted-driving-statistics/
      The reason why people are so distracted by social media and may get in crashes is because of ether texting, taking pictures, browsing social media, watching videos or even streaming something.
       If we did not have social media and technology like this we would not be this far with everything in life. Social media some people say it is almost like a curse but honestly when you think about it, if we had no social media we could not respond as fast as we could now. It would probably take a lot longer to know current events and technological advances because a lot of reports go through social media. For example, if you got in a crash or a fight broke out, people would have to run to get help. Without social media people would not be able to document events for evidence. Probably a lot More people would be in more trouble if it wasn't for social media.

    i agree that social media can help people also can say it does not help people because it is a distraction

Technology that has helps Police/Military  Every year with technology with military and police they come out with robots that make military and the police force a lot easier. They have been working on robotic K9 units that can open doors climb stuff and carry some things. But it also helps save some of the regular K9 dogs.  The Massachusetts State Police force/bomb squad has tested these K9 dogs and one of the  first type of robotic unit being tested around this area at a private testing facility.
